WIC Week 2025

Celebrating Women in Construction Week

At Oliver Fire Protection & Security, we’re proud to recognize Women in Construction Week (WIC Week™) and the incredible contributions women make to the industry. Established by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) in 1998, WIC Week has grown into a nationwide celebration that highlights the critical role women play in shaping the built environment.

Breaking Barriers, Building Futures

The construction industry has long been viewed as a male-dominated field, but that narrative is changing. Women are making their mark across all areas—from skilled trades to leadership roles, project management, and engineering. Their expertise, innovation, and dedication are helping drive the industry forward, proving that construction isn’t just about who swings the hammer—it’s about who brings the knowledge, vision, and skills to the table.

At Oliver, we are fortunate to have a team of talented women at every level of our organization, from the field to the front office. Their contributions have helped us remain the Region’s Trusted Partner in fire protection and security for more than 65 years.

Creating More Opportunities for Women

While the number of women in construction continues to rise, there’s still work to be done to ensure equal opportunities, representation, and support for women in the industry. Encouraging mentorship, career development, and visibility for women in trades and leadership is crucial to fostering growth and inclusion.

WIC Week isn’t just about celebrating where we are—it’s about recognizing where we’re going. The future of construction is one where talent, skill, and leadership have no gender barriers, and we’re committed to playing a role in making that future a reality.

Join Us in Celebrating Women in Construction

This week, we encourage everyone to take a moment to appreciate the hard work, resilience, and expertise that women bring to construction. Whether it’s through mentorship, advocacy, or simply recognizing the achievements of women in the field, every effort helps create a stronger, more inclusive industry.

Stay tuned this week as we continue to highlight the women who make a difference at Oliver and beyond.
