NFSA Hall of Fame 2021

We are pleased to announce that Richard E. Oliver will be inducted into the NFSA (National Fire Sprinkler Association) Hall of Fame Class of 2021. Accepting the distinguished honor, Dick will become the third Oliver to be named into this elite group of industry influencers joining his brother Bill Oliver, who was honored in 2011 as well as his father Leland Oliver, who was honored in 1997.

NFSA Inductee

Dick Oliver is a graduate of Bucknell University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He started out his career at The Trane Company as an HVAC Sales Engineer. In 1974, he would return to the family business assuming the position of Project Manager and begin a lifetime of work within the fire sprinkler industry. From 2000-2005, he would follow in his brother’s and late father’s footsteps as he embraced the responsibilities of becoming the 3rd President of Oliver Sprinkler Company. Dick contributed much of his time and effort into serving the community and organizations within the industry:

• President of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) – Philadelphia Delaware Valley Chapter
• Chairman of the National Fire Sprinkler Association Engineering & Standards Committee.
• Chairman of the Pipe and Tube Committee which investigated the causes and solutions to Microbiologically Induced Corrosion (MIC) in piping systems.
• Member of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) committees NFPA 25 and NFPA 13.

Please join us in congratulating Dick on this tremendous achievement as we are all very proud to see him honored in this very special way and wish him continued success and happiness in the future.
