Avoid Costly Fire Alarm Deficiencies with Routine Checks

When dealing with inspections and making sure your property is inspected annually can be something that most would wait to take care of until the month before they are due.  This can be a very frustrating and dangerous way to go about it especially when dealing with deficiencies in your building.  Deficiencies are when a device(s) fail during inspection and need to be repaired so that you can be re-inspected and then have a passing certification.  This happens a lot with historical buildings due to the older structure of the building as well as larger properties like colleges, industrial factories and hospitals.  Deficiencies can cost you anywhere from a couple hundred dollars to fix to thousands of dollars but there are ways to ensure your building or property’s fire alarm system is always running properly.

One very efficient way to ensure your system is running properly is checking on the system periodically whether it be monthly or bi-monthly.  With preventative maintenance options like health checks which are monthly or bi-monthly check ups on the fire alarm system can detect deficiencies early and repair the problem long before your inspections are due.  This option tends to be far more cost efficient then just waiting for your inspection and hoping your devices are all operating properly.

How can you know if this is something for you? Easy answer is if your panel is constantly having troubles pop up whether its for the same issue or several different ones, it’s not going to go away by simply silencing the panel.  These issues may seem small at the time but can grow to a bigger issue not only failing your inspection but costing you money down the line with having the possibility or replacing a large number of devices all at once.  With an option like monthly or bi-monthly health checks we can even identify a problem before it becomes a problem, saving you thousands of dollars in repairs and having the comfort of knowing that your building is going to pass inspection in a timely matter.

Investing in preventative maintenance is an easy way to ensure your property is always protected and your alarm system that you depend on to protect your assets and people’s lives is running properly and can react to a fire hazard immediately.
