Sales Estimator – Fire Sprinkler Systems

Core Job Functions:
•Develop new client relationships to increase sales volume in the areas of construction managers, general contractors, subcontractors, industrial, commercial and institutional owners, in accordance with guidelines as established by the corporation.
•Maintain client relationships to ensure that the company develops its customer base and increases its sales volume.
•Review and analyze weekly cost reports to evaluate that job costs are proper in relation to estimated costs in order to assure accuracy of estimate.
•Interpret bid documents, plans, and specifications in order to prepare complete and explicit preliminary designs to insure accurate estimated costs.
•Prepare complete explicit proposals and specifications to provide an accurate and detailed scope of work and exclusions.
•Analyze specifications for payment terms, insurance requirements, retainage and liquidated damages to assure that all costs are included in estimate for any unusual requirements.
•Research and determine the need for subcontractors; obtain competitive quotations in order to produce a complete and competitive bid proposal.
•Provide proper information to design, construction manufacturing and project managers for efficient scheduling, shipping, installation and completion of contract.
•Identify and obtain all extras to the contract in conjunction with the project managers to ensure project profit objectives.
•Participate in any necessary decision-making during contract duration working with the project manager and project designer to provide background project information and assure project profit objectives.
•Attend pre-bid meetings to develop a complete and thorough understanding of project requirements.
•Make necessary surveys of buildings and review pipe locations to provide necessary information in order to prepare an accurate job estimate.

Special Activities
•Investigate trends and fluctuations in the fire protection market, by following thru with the project to determine who was awarded jobs.
•Entertain clients outside normal business hours in order to grow and develop the relationship.
•Must have a dependable personal vehicle.
•Participate in associations in order to further your career and to gain Oliver name recognition.
•Network with other divisions of the company in order to gain new customers.

Minimum General Education
• High School Diploma
• College Degree Preferred – Bachelors*

Minimum Working Experience
*College degree in construction related field or equivalent work experience in fire protection with proven ability to sell and make persuasive clear presentation of ideas or facts.

Specialized Knowledge/Qualifications
• Proficient in methods, materials, codes and engineering
•NFPA Codes
•Building Codes
•Ability to see the WHOLE picture
•Ability to develop long term relationships

Other Requirements:
• Must be located within the United States.
• Be able to commute daily to office and job sites (as required).
• Speak Fluent English (other languages are helpful but not required).
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen and background verification check.
• Valid Drivers license.
